TODAY'S GOSPEL REFLECTION: "God's Words Unblinds"

June 09, 2023. Friday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

Gospel

Mk 12:35-37
As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said,
"How do the scribes claim that the Christ is the son of David?
David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said:

The Lord said to my lord,
'Sit at my right hand
until I place your enemies under your feet.'

David himself calls him 'lord';
so how is he his son?"
The great crowd heard this with delight.

Reflection
We are invited to see the light of truth. Blessed Friday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time. The lessons from our mistakes shape us. However, we don't need to make mistakes to learn. Our ability to think is given to us by the Lord. That means we can learn from other people's experiences. Through our observation of how our neighbor becomes a victim of sin, we can learn to avoid the same mistakes they have made in their lives. But, let's remember that we cannot be complacent. Let's know to observe and self-evaluate so that we are not blinded by too much confidence. This is the message of our Gospel today, to listen carefully to the word of our Lord Jesus Christ and focus our attention on its meanings. This is our guide in life so that we don't have to commit mistakes again in order to learn. Blindness disappears when one devotes attention to God.

May we eliminate the parts of ourselves that do not deserve to be brought into the Kingdom of God. Through this, we will discover who we really are in the eyes of the Loving Lord. Let's strive to remove these obstacles so that we can fully see God's call. The small decisions in our life, when done correctly will lead us to holiness. In the Name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen+
