TODAY'S GOSPEL REFLECTION: "God Purifies His Faithful"

May 30, 2023. Tuesday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time

Gospel

Mk 10:28-31
Peter began to say to Jesus,
'We have given up everything and followed you."
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you,
there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters
or mother or father or children or lands
for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel
who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age:
houses and brothers and sisters
and mothers and children and lands,
with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come.
But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first."

Reflection
Let us go towards the life reserved for us. Blessed Tuesday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time. God has committed no sin except to love. The divinity of Christ was brought to earth by Him, so we could experience true love's meaning. The meaning of true love was demonstrated by Christ leaving His throne. God may choose to cause us trouble in the world. We can be abandoned and forgotten because of our stubbornness. But, God has a different plan for us. Because God does not love like a man. The love of a sinful man is easy to pass and forgetful. Whereas when God loves, He remains faithful. Christ left His throne so we could be with Him and experience forgiveness without recompense. This is the message of the Good News to us, we also need to leave the things that offer us a comfortable life. Because this life is not lasting. We need to prepare ourselves for our final dwelling. We can only get to Heaven if we allow God as early as now to change our sinful ways. That is why it is said in the Bible that even our relatives or even friends we will leave. This will happen if God gives us a heavier obligation. It can also occur if our blood relatives obstruct our mission. Although difficult, these trials of the world are temporary. God promises that there is a reward in our final destination. Surely, that will bring us eternal peace.

May the clarity of the Holy Spirit guide us so that we can make sense of what can our response bring to our mission. In the Name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen+
