Blessed Wednesday! Our Lord Jesus is true in His promises for us. It's impossible for Him to lie to us because Jesus is the Truth, and this is why we have confidence in Him. We can trust that those who are faithful to the gospel and live the faith will possess the glory of Christ in heaven. At the same time, Jesus is not just true with His promises but also with His warnings. In the gospel reading, He speaks of the reality that many will try to enter the Kingdom of God and fail to enter it. Many may think that they will be in heaven without the need of following the commandments and teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. This is the sin of presumption which is a form of an abuse to God's mercy instead of trust in His mercy. We should take seriously the warning of Christ especially when He said, "Depart from Me, all you evildoers." It is because of love that God reveals this to us because He wants us to be with Him forever and not separated from Him due to grave sins.

It is an act of mercy that God instituted the sacrament of confession for us. He knows that on our own, we cannot enter His Kingdom because of our grave sins, and this is why we should seek this sacrament. Below this reflection, there is a link to a guide to confession and examination of conscience. This will help us to see in the state of prayer whether we are following the commandments and will of God in our lives. There are times when we are tempted by the devil to commit a sin as if no one sees. The truth is that God sees all of our actions, even if it involves lying in small things or the harsh words we think of other people, and this should motivate us to be faithful to God in every way. Remembering that God is present with us will enable us to avoid sins and love God. May we humble ourselves and take seriously both the promises and the warnings of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is for our good and for our salvation that He reveals them to us. The path to heaven is narrow. What is impossible with us is only possible with God.

Amen +

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, be with us always until the hour of our death. Amen. +

May the Lord + bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. +
