Today Jesus talks about the temple which the people adored because of its many precious stones and how it was built. But the view of our Lord is different. He sees through the physical structures, no matter how extravagant or expensive they may seem. For He knows that all things pass away but there’s only One who does not - God and the promise of eternal life with Him. Therefore, what shall we do? What shall we do knowing that all things will come to an end? We shall prepare for the end that we desire if we want to be with God and receive eternal life.
That is first, to spend our lives always to love and serve God. Second, to do the same to our neighbor. A life of love and service is a true life worth living for. For this generosity, charity and love are the true gems of our souls which is also the Church. Each of us is God’s temple. May we adorn our souls with love and charity which gives life and lasts for all eternity. We shall keep this truth in our hearts and minds that we may have the courage to renounce sin. Therefore, we can gain true happiness in life on earth and so it shall be until heaven in life without end. Amen. +
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, be with us always until the hour of our death. Amen. +
God bless us and may He help us always to conform to His will. Amen. +
